01/15/18 - We build fiberglass boats from the outside finish surface inward to the layers of interior fiberlass lamination. The hull mold surface is orange. After applying the HIN, we sprayed the mold with your dark blue gelcoat for the hull color, Then we stabilized the gelcoat with a skin coat of fiberglass mat. In the next pictures we post of the hull construction, we'll be building up several layers of the strong fiberglass roving and mat binder material to complete the hull construction.
01/18/19 - The hull part construction is nearly completed. We have now sprayed the deck mold with our custom colored cloud grey gelcoat. We'll skin the deck part next with mat to stabilize the gelcoat finish.
01/24/2018 - We completed the lamination of the deck and the hull this afternoon. We'll start laminating the inner glass unit (IGU) first thing tomorrow morning.
01/25/2018 - Work continued all day building the IGU; and will continue into the next day.
01/26/2018 - We finished all the fiberglass lamination and released the deck and hull from their molds. Then we bush-gelled the finished fiberglass faces on the parts - deck and hull. The IGU and small parts - centerboard blades & trunk cap - are finished, too. We plan to pull the parts from their molds on Monday after allowing them cure time over the weekend.
01/30/2018 - We pulled the hull from the mold today (Video).
